HANDBOOK OF THE BIRDS OF THE WORLD VOL 6 SERIES
The series was edited by Josep del Hoyo, Andrew Elliott, Jordi Sargatal and David A. It is the first handbook to cover every known living species of bird. Lynx has now published a checklist in association with Birdlife. The Handbook of the Birds of the World (HBW) is a multi-volume series produced by the Spanish publishing house Lynx Edicions in partnership with BirdLife International. A Special Volume covers and illustrates all these 57 (or more now) species, with texts, plates and distribution maps in typical HBW format. In the 20 years that have passed since this project started, some new species have been discovered. This is however, not the end of the HBW project. HBW volume 1 was published in 1992, and the final, 16 th volume was presented at the end of 2011. In fact, it will be the first work ever to deal with each member of an entire Class of the Animal Kingdom. Edited by two world-leading authorities on the subject, contributions have come from more than 200 international authors, making this a totally comprehensive text on the subject. HBW is the most remarkable publishing project on birds ever conceived and executed, the first work ever to illustrate all the species of birds in the world, in addition to providing access to all the essential information about each one of them. This 6-volume Handbook covers in detail all of the latest practice in technical and vocational education and training (TVET). The foreword in the volume is a presentation on the entire HBW project.
